The main objective of this research was to narrow down a combination of products that will provide the greater chances of a successful pharmaceutical manufacturing business in Angola. Several parameters were considered to do this. The 10 most impacting factors were the level
of complexity in the required manufacturing, level of skilled labor, logistics, complexity and duration of the regulatory process, marketing configuration, burden of disease, initial capital, risk and overall reward.

Angola has around 220 health companies registered with the Ministry of Health. Part of them markets and distributes medical supplies, health products and pharmacists simultaneously.
There are no pharmaceutical companies that manufacture by contract in Angola nor any original manufacturers. Based on the FT analysis of the 15 companies most prominent pharmaceutical companies in Angola and information shared by key opinion leaders; we offer 3 options to enter the pharmaceutical market in Angola, each one associated with increased Risk Level.

Our priority
In the last years, Angola had to import 100% of its pharmaceutical demand from abroad and from other parts of the Africa… The rural region, which responds for approximately 18 million of the country’s 30 million inhabitants, suffers greatly from the low quality imports and counterfeit medicines.
